ILA’s technical consultant Brian Wilson supported LeadBattery360’s program at a four-day interactive workshop on safe lead battery recycling and manufacturing in Bangladesh.
Using the Benchmarking Assessment Tool – which is designed to help regulators and government officials to inspect lead battery recycling and manufacturing facilities – the workshop covered all aspects of occupational safety, plant safety and environmental performance.
The event was held as part of partnership working between UNICEF, NGOs and the four industry associations supporting LeadBattery360.
As part of the workshop, Rahimafrooz Batteries hosted a field trip for delegates to visit one of the company’s lead battery recycling plants and lead battery manufacturing operations to undertake a benchmarking assessment tool health and safety assessment.
